This little engine came to the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad through a private collector for a time and was last known to be at Boothbay Railway Village.
When this engine came to us it had a big problem getting enough draft when starting up or if it was sitting still for a long time. So we investigated inside the smoke box and found that the draft ring had rusted away and now had as many holes on the bottom as it did on the top. Since the proper ring could not be found we replaced this with a piece of flexible copper tubing and aligned it to the center of the stack with it's open end at the narrowest part of the stack. This served as a single port blower in place of the multi port ring, and ran well.
